INCLUSIVE EID
YPN teamed up with MYANWA (Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network), YDAN (Youth Disability Advocacy Network), and The Y to bring you the community a warm evening of good food and community for Ramadan.

IDAHOBIT AT ANCHORS YOUTH CENTRE
YPN teamed up with Transfolk WA, WAAIDS Council, Bi+ Community Perth, and headspace to host an IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex discrimination and Transphobia) celebration at Anchors Youth Centre! YPN provided information and education for the young people at the youth drop-in centre.

YPN gathered at Perth City Farm for a wholesome evening of community and good food after months of uncertainty and lockdowns.

PERTH FESTIVAL FT. BENJAMIN LAW
The Youth Pride Network was honoured to have the opportunity to collaborate with the Perth Festival and host FREE events for LGBTIQA+ young people. Some of these included:

A Q & A with Benjamin Law and Yamiko Marama of Growing Up Queer;

Readings from Patrick Gunasekera, Holden Sheppard and Yamiko Marama;

A live Perth edition of the radio show Wild Black Women with Angelina Hurley and Chelsea Bond;

Michael Earp, Claire G. Coleman, Omar Sakr, Christos Tsiolkas and Marlee Ward discussing the new queer YA anothology "Kindred" &;
-
A first ever Perth edition of Story Club hosted by Ben Jenkins.

February 15th, 2020
QUEER DND
YPN pulled out their best roleplaying skills and hosted a Queer DND! An LGBTIQA+ safe space for players or all levels and abilities aged 12 - 25 hosted at Foyer Oxford. One of YPN's most popular events yet!

November 10th, 2019
CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS BILL DROPIN
YPN provided a space for both LGBTIQA+ young people and their allies to drop in, discuss the discriminatory nature of the Religious Freedoms Bill, and develop letters to send to political leaders to stop the bill. YPN provided resources, support, and guidance throughout the process. The event was hosted at YACWA.

TALKING GENERATIONS IV - UNDERSTANDING THE GENDER REVOLUTION
The forum hosted a short presentations on gender diversity, including 'Bye Bye Binaries' by Misty Farquhar.

ALL AGES GIG (x 2)
YPN hosted two all ages gigs featuring performances from local bands, drag performers, and DJs at The YHQ. Over 100 people came down do dance, socialise, and enjoy the entertainment.

TABOO TALKS
YPN teamed up with SHQ (Sexual Health Quarters), Smut Club, and Magenta for one of their only 18+ events: Taboo Talks. An anonymous Q&A panel as part of the KickstART Festival 2019. Audience members submitted questions about sexuality, sexual health, body positivity, respectful relationships, consent and ethical pornography. The event sold out!

YPN MARCHES AT PRIDE
YPN was thrilled to have the opportunity to march in the 2018 Pride parade. We hosted banner and sign-making workshops, and tie-dying workshops, and brought the community together to celebrate LGBTIQA+ identity. We extended an open invitation to the LGBTIQA+ community and their allies of all ages to march alongside us.

November 20th, 2018
TRANS DAY OF REMEMBERANCE
YPN hosted an all ages quiet picnic at Hyde Park to celebrate the resilience of the trans community and commemorate the trans and gender diverse people's lives lost to transphobic violence. The event focussed on self care and community.

LGBTIQA+ CRAFTERNOON
YPN teamed up with headspace Osbourne Park to celebrate National headspace Day and National Coming Out Day for LGBTIQA+ young people aged 12 - 25 and their friends and family. Attendees enjoyed free pizza, decorated their own indoor plants, fairy bread making stations, glitter face paints and more!
