Anne-Marie (She/Her)

Anne-Marie is 23 and currently completing a BA in Philosophy and Politics. Her hobbies include drinking copious amounts of coffee, procrastinating with Facebook and trying to get her dog to love her. In addition to YPN she also volunteers with a variety of other organisations/committees.

Charlotte (She/Her)

Charlotte is a co-founder and current Chair of the Youth Pride Network and is a self-confessed policy nerd. She had been involved in youth advocacy since she was 13 and wrote her first risk management plan at 15. She currently sits on the Minster’s Youth Advisory Committee and has a qualification in Neuroscience and Science Communication. One time someone described her as “aggressively bisexual” and she aims to live up to that every day.

Chey (She/Her)

Chey is looking to make her mark in human rights and advocacy and hopes to have a future career in human rights law after graduating with a degree in Political Science and International Relations. She is often lost in her own thoughts and loves to watch weird films in her spare time, travel, as well as generally pretending to be bougie over brunch.

Clare (She/Her)

Clare is studying a Masters of Teaching at ECU. A member of the original Youth Pride Network committee in 2017, Clare has rejoined us again after spending a year in Japan on exchange and 9 months in England with her partner. Clare hopes to use her time with YPN to continue to improve the lives of LGBTQIA+ young people in WA. dying a Masters of Teaching at ECU. Emilia Jayne (She/Her)

Emilia is the result of combining a fan of worplay, an LGBTQIA+ rights advocate and an utterly shameless nerd. A committee member since March of 2018, Emilia has worked with the Youth Pride Network on a number of initiatives, including the 2018 LRC submission and Queer & A. YPN’s favourite punmiester currently the Communications Officer.

Faybian (He/Him)

Faybian began studying a Certificate IV in Community Services after leaving high school in 2018 as a year 11 student. Through this, he gained volunteer work with Rainbow KINections and Youth Pride Network. Faybian has since chosen to continue studying at TAFE with a Certificate IV in Youth Work, with this certificate he hopes to go to University to study Psychology. In his spare time, Faybian bakes, reads, listens to music and watches way too much Netflix.

Jack (He/Him)

Jack is a 20-year-old Auslan student who has been working in disability advocacy for 8 years! Jack has a hearing loss and performs in Auslan alongside a queerlectro-pop band named Alter Boy. Jack joined the Youth Pride Network committee in 2019 and is now Secretary, as well also being on the Youth Disability Advocacy Network’s (YDAN) executive committee.

Kai (He/Him)

Kai is Co-Founder of the Youth Pride Network. He is also a peer sexual health educator at the Youth Affairs Council of WA and freelance educator specialising in professional development for diverse sex, sexuality, and gender inclusion. He has collaborated with many organisations within the youth sector to ensure LGBTQIA+ people have access to safe and inclusive services. Additionally, he is an advisor to the WA Minister for Youth and Housing and holds a position at Curtin University as "Transgender and Transition Mentor". When he grows up, he aspires to be Spiderman

Policy Team

Kat (She/They)

Kat is a current psychology student with a background in English and Creative Writing. She spends all her time with a nose in a book or on TikTok. She is on the Youth Steering Group and volunteers at a women’s refuge and has previously edited manuscripts for Perth based youth authors.

Social Media Officer

Katie (She/Her)

Katie is a Law / Science student at Murdoch with a passion for justice and advocacy. She has a particular interest in legislative reform. Katie wants you to join your union.

Nick (He/him)

Nicholas is part of the Events Team and is passionate about making Australia a more accepting place for LGBTQIA+ youth. His passions are film and television and is bisexual.

Sadie (She/Her)

Sadie is a current Social Work student at Curtin University with a passion for social justice. She has volunteering experience in queer media, peer support and advocacy work.
